Meadowview’s Commitment To You

Planning ahead is always the best course of action. Whether planning for a post operation care plan, a respite stay or long-term care, here at Meadowview we try to accommodate those needs.

Usually two to three weeks notice is enough for us to determine if we can meet your needs. There is a deposit required to hold a room, whether private or semi-private. The option is yours as to how long in advance you want to plan.

With several styles of rooms available, you may want to secure the room that meets your needs. People vary in their preferences. Some like to be close to the Rehab Center, some like to be close to the Nurses’ Station and others like to be closer to the dining room.

The advance fee for holding a certain room is $250 per week for a maximum of three weeks. This gives you and us at Meadowview a better chance of meeting your needs. With this commitment, we will guarantee the available room you choose and take that room off of our list of available rooms.

Again, the terms for this commitment are $250 per week for no more than three weeks. Upon admission, 50% of your deposit will be credited to your next bill. If, for any reason, you are not admitted to Meadowview you forfeit your deposit to us.

Veteran’s Benefits

Meadowview Manor has had great success getting veterans and their spouses a monthly aide and attendant pension from the VA to cover the costs of staying at Meadowview Manor.  If you and/or your spouse served in the armed forces during the war time, you may be eligible for the assistance.  As anyone can imagine, there is a large amount of paperwork involved.  However, depending on assets, monthly income, and room costs, many people are eligible to receive as much as $1654 a month in the Aide & Attendant pension.  This money in addition to your monthly Social Security check usually covers your costs at Meadowview.

It does take several months for the paperwork to get processed.  However, when approved, the money is backdated to the date the VA received the application.  Veterans with any prior association with the VA are more quickly processed.  Widows will take much longer.  The application process and approval process might take over a year, but again, it is backdated to the date the VA receives the application.

There is a continuing benefit that is a great service.  After the first full year of benefits, the veteran or his spouse can file for reimbursement of their medical expenses, including all of the room and board paid to Meadowview.  The VA then issues another check to the vet or spouse for cost of living expenses.  In some instances, the VA’s assistance is the difference in a person’s life as to the quality of care they are able to receive when it is needed.
